Title I Services
The Board of Education enhances the educational program for educationally disadvantaged students with the use of federal funding. Title I funding ensures that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on Ohio's challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. 100% of Maumee Teachers are H.Q.T.
We are pleased to tell parents that 100% of the teachers in the Maumee City School District are considered “highly qualified” by the state of Ohio Department of Education. If you ever have questions about the qualifications and/or licensure of the teachers, classroom assistants, or other staff members who are working with your child(ren), please contact the building principal directly.
Title I Parent Participation
You are your child's first and most important teacher – this is your chance to join the school district in planning your child's educational programming! Maumee City Schools is seeking ideas to help us improve parent involvement in Title I events/programs. Parents have been notified if their child(ren) are eligible for Title I services which include additional instructional time in reading and/or mathematics.

The Maumee City School District holds an annual Federal Programs public meeting and invites all interested community members to attend and provide input about how federal programs money received is allocated. Public notice of the meeting will be provided.

Students with Special Needs
Search for Children with Disabilities
School districts throughout the country are continually involved in an effort to locate, evaluate and identify all children with disabilities from birth through age 21. Specific eligibility criteria vary with the age of the individual, but can include delays in communication; cognitive functioning; adaptive behavior; and sensory, physical and/or social/emotional development. Please contact us if you have a child who may qualify for services from the school district.
Federal Funds Assist Students with Special Needs
Each year Maumee City Schools receives Part-B IDEA Special Education funds from the federal government to assist in providing services to students with disabilities in the Maumee school system, as well as at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns and St. Joseph's. These funds help to provide instructional and paraprofessional staff and instructional materials and supplies. They also offset tuition costs for students in specialized programs housed outside of the district.
